In a highly anticipated launch event on Tuesday, Apple introduced three innovative models of its popular smartwatch lineup: the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3. The Apple Watch Series 11 stands out with its ability to monitor potential hypertension. Utilizing data from its optical heart sensor, the device analyzes the response of blood vessels to heartbeats over a 30-day period. This algorithm operates seamlessly in the background, alerting users if it detects concerning patterns. Apple aims to reach over 1 million individuals with previously undiagnosed hypertension in its first year of rollout. Additionally, the Series 11 includes a new Sleep Score feature, which assesses sleep quality based on various factors such as duration, consistency, and time spent in different sleep stages. Enhancing its connectivity, this model offers 5G capabilities, improving battery efficiency and coverage compared to its LTE predecessors. With a battery life of up to 24 hours, the Series 11 is available in Jet Black, Silver, Rose Gold, and a new Space Gray, starting at $399. Moving on to the Apple Watch Ultra 3, this model boasts a larger screen and introduces satellite connectivity. Users can now benefit from emergency communication capabilities in remote areas where cellular signals may be weak. Like the Series 11, it supports 5G and hypertension notifications, making it a powerful tool for health monitoring. The Ultra 3 offers an impressive battery life of up to 42 hours, extending to 72 hours in Low Power Mode. Featuring LTPO3 and wide-angle OLED technology, this watch presents the largest and brightest screen of any Apple Watch to date, available in Black and Natural Titanium, starting at $799. Lastly, the Apple Watch SE 3 arrives with significant upgrades, including a faster S10 chip that enhances performance over the previous S8 chip. This upgrade introduces an always-on display for the first time and supports new gesture controls like double-tap and wrist flick. The SE 3 also features wrist temperature sensing, which aids in retrospective ovulation estimates, providing richer insights through the vitals app. With an 18-hour all-day battery life and fast charging capabilities, the SE 3 starts at $249 and comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes with Midnight and Starlight aluminum cases.
