Apple debuts a new dedicated Games app

During the recent WWDC event, Apple introduced an exciting new gaming application aimed at unifying the gaming experience across its devices. This dedicated Games app will function as a launcher, allowing users to conveniently track their achievements and monitor leaderboards. The app is designed to enhance social interaction among gamers with features such as a "Play Together" tab. This functionality enables users to discover what their friends are currently playing, compare scores, and even send invitations for multiplayer experiences. Additionally, the app introduces a feature called "Challenges," which facilitates friendly competition among friends through score-based contests. This innovative approach allows single-player games to evolve into competitive experiences. The Games app includes five main sections: Home, Arcade, Play Together, Library, and Search. It will also provide direct access to the App Store's gaming section, highlighting Apple Arcade, the company’s subscription service priced at $6.99 per month. Reports suggest that this new app will be preinstalled on Apple devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, later this year.
