During the recent WWDC event, Apple introduced an exciting new gaming application aimed at revolutionizing the way users engage with games on their devices. This dedicated Games app will act as a central hub for gaming, allowing players to easily launch games and monitor their achievements, all while accessing comprehensive leaderboards. One of the standout features of this app is the 'Play Together' tab, which enables users to see their friends' gaming activities, compare scores, and send invitations for multiplayer sessions. Additionally, the app introduces 'Challenges,' a thrilling new mechanism for users to compete against friends in score-based contests. This feature builds on existing Game Center leaderboards, allowing even single-player games to foster a competitive spirit among friends. The Games app will consist of five main sections: Home, Arcade, Play Together, Library, and Search. It will seamlessly connect to the App Store’s gaming section, prominently featuring Apple Arcade, the company's subscription service priced at $6.99 per month. According to reports, the Games app is set to be preinstalled on various Apple devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, later this year.
