On Wednesday, Apple unveiled its latest offering, AppleCare One, a subscription plan priced at $19.99 per month. This new service allows users to secure coverage for up to three devices, streamlining protection under one convenient plan. Customers wishing to insure additional devices can do so for an extra $5.99 each month. Previously, Apple users needed to enroll their devices in individual AppleCare+ plans for extended coverage beyond the standard warranty. With AppleCare One, the tech giant is now providing a bundled solution that includes all the perks of AppleCare+, such as unlimited repairs for damages from accidents like spills or drops, round-the-clock support from Apple specialists, and battery coverage. Notably, AppleCare One expands its protection to include theft and loss coverage not only for iPhones but also extending to iPads and Apple Watches. For the first time, consumers can add coverage to Apple devices they already own, provided the devices are up to four years old and in good condition. To determine eligibility, a diagnostic check may be required, which can be performed using a customer’s iPhone or iPad or at an Apple Store. The pricing structure for AppleCare One remains consistent, regardless of the devices covered. This means that users can combine their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch under a single plan, potentially saving up to $11 monthly compared to enrolling in separate AppleCare+ plans for each device. For instance, a customer who purchases a MacBook Pro and opts for AppleCare One while also adding their iPhone will immediately benefit from cost savings. Apple specifies that only devices linked to the customer's Apple Account are eligible for coverage under AppleCare One. However, those who prefer coverage for a single device can continue to sign up for the traditional AppleCare+. Additionally, the new theft and loss coverage will also be integrated into AppleCare+ for users looking to protect just one iPad or Apple Watch. Starting Thursday, AppleCare One will be available in the United States. Interested customers can easily sign up for the service via their iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or they may visit an Apple Store for assistance.
