Apple Fitness+ to debut in India on 15 December: here's what you should know

Apple has officially announced that its popular Apple Fitness+ service will be available in India starting December 15. This rollout marks the most significant expansion of the service since its inception five years ago, bringing access to users in a total of 49 countries. Jay Blahnik, Apple’s Vice President of Fitness Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, highlighting the seamless integration of Fitness+ with Apple devices. He stated, "Through its seamless integration across Apple devices, Fitness+ has helped inspire users to live a healthier day. From real-time personal metrics displayed on-screen with Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3, to the ability to take the service on the go with an iPhone or iPad, we’re delivering unmatched motivation to users. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this experience to even more users around the globe with our biggest expansion yet." The subscription for Apple Fitness+ will be priced at ₹149 per month or ₹999 annually, and it allows sharing with up to five family members. To entice new customers, Apple is offering three months of free access to Fitness+ for anyone who purchases a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2. To use Apple Fitness+, customers will need an iPhone 8 or later running iOS 16.1 or a newer version. For a complete experience with metric tracking, an Apple Watch Series 3 or later is required. The service features a diverse library of 12 workout types including High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Yoga, Dance, and more, with sessions ranging from 5 to 45 minutes available in stunning 4K Ultra High Definition. Additionally, Apple is introducing a new K-Pop category across all workout types, featuring popular tracks from leading artists. Users can also enjoy Artist Spotlight playlists, dedicating workouts to renowned musicians like Taylor Swift, BTS, Beyoncé, and Coldplay. For those who favor audio experiences, the Time to Walk feature allows users to listen to stories from notable figures, including Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda, during their walks.
