Apple Fitness+ is finally live in India: Price, workouts, top features and more

In a significant move, Apple has officially launched its Fitness+ service in India, just days after unveiling its fifth retail store in the country. This expansion marks a milestone for Apple, bringing its fitness and wellness platform to a total of 49 countries worldwide. Apple Fitness+, a subscription-based service, provides users with access to a wide array of guided video workouts. Initially introduced globally in 2020, its arrival in India introduces 12 diverse workout types, including Strength, Yoga, HIIT, Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing, and Meditation. Users can choose workouts ranging from 5 to 45 minutes, accessible on devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. One of the standout features of Fitness+ is its ability to display personal metrics on-screen when paired with an Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3. Users can track heart rate, calories burned, progress on Activity rings, and utilize the Burn Bar for a more competitive edge. Additionally, the service offers a Custom Plans feature that allows users to tailor their workout and meditation schedules based on personal preferences and historical data. Apple highlighted the practicality of Custom Plans, which include options like Stay Consistent for maintaining routines, Push Further for increased challenges, and Get Started for newcomers with pre-made plans. Moreover, the app integrates seamlessly with Apple Music, introducing a new K-pop genre for all workout types and featuring an Artist Spotlight series that showcases playlists dedicated to prominent artists such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and BTS. Users can also explore curated workout collections designed to help achieve specific goals, whether it’s training for a 5K, practicing Pilates, or enjoying a nostalgic dance session. The meditation section offers 12 unique themes, including Calm, Sleep, and Sound, with techniques aimed at enhancing self-connection and relaxation. The pricing for Apple Fitness+ is set at ₹149 per month or ₹999 annually, with the option to share the subscription with up to five family members. To encourage new users, Apple has introduced a promotional offer that provides three months of Fitness+ for free with the purchase of select Apple devices, including the latest Apple Watch and iPhone. For a complete experience, users will need an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.1 or newer, along with an Apple Watch Series 3 or later to access full metric tracking functionalities.
