Many other leading smartphone manufacturers, including Xiaomi, are also scaling back their sales projections, with reports indicating a potential 20-30% cut in shipment targets. Brands like OPPO, Vivo, and Honor are similarly adjusting their expectations by 15-30%. The iPhone 17 series has been available for a while, and many consumers eager to upgrade may have already made their purchases. This scenario has contributed to the anticipated decline in demand, aligning with the natural lifecycle of smartphones. Moreover, a significant number of potential buyers might be opting to wait for the next-generation models, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Fold, which are expected to launch in September 2026. Despite these trends, the iPhone 17 standard model achieved the status of the best-selling smartphone globally in the first quarter of 2026, as reported by Counterpoint Research's Global Handset Model Sales Tracker.
