The launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the gaming world's most eagerly awaited titles, has been postponed once again, now scheduled for November 19, 2026. Originally set for release in fall 2025, the date was already pushed to May 2026 before this latest announcement. Rockstar Games revealed on Thursday that the development team requires an additional six months to perfect the game. In their statement, they expressed regret for the extended wait but assured fans that this extra time would enable them to deliver the high level of polish that players expect and deserve. This sequel to the critically acclaimed Grand Theft Auto V, which debuted in 2013, has generated immense excitement. Notably, GTA V holds the record for the fastest entertainment property to reach $1 billion in revenue, achieving this milestone within just three days of its release, according to Guinness World Records. The anticipation for GTA VI is palpable, with the game’s trailer, released in December 2023, setting a record for the most views on YouTube within 24 hours, excluding music videos. Despite the excitement, Rockstar did not elaborate on the reasons behind the recent delay. Adding to the turbulence, the company recently let go of 30 to 40 employees for allegedly leaking confidential information on a Discord server, raising concerns over internal stability during this crucial development phase.
