Nothing Phone 3 to launch on 1 July: Here's everything we know

The launch of the Nothing Phone 3 is officially set for July 1, with the company announcing the event on X (formerly Twitter). The post simply states, "Come to Play," along with the scheduled time of 10:30 PM IST. This global unveiling promises to showcase a device that aims to redefine the flagship smartphone experience. Carl Pei has hinted at significant enhancements across the board, with an expected price around £800 in the UK, translating to approximately ₹92,000. However, pricing in India might be more competitive, falling between ₹60,000 and ₹70,000, in line with previous launches. Interestingly, the Phone 3 may debut without the signature Glyph Interface that has characterized previous models. A recent teaser ominously stated, "We killed the Glyph Interface," paired with a video of the lights gradually dimming. This shift suggests a potential redesign, possibly incorporating a dot-matrix or pixel-based display on the back. Nostalgic animations and arcade-inspired elements hint at a blend of retro and contemporary design aesthetics. The Phone 3 is expected to feature a premium construction, with a dual-texture back and an integrated button, showcasing Nothing's dedication to innovative hardware. Carl Pei emphasized that the new model will utilize "premium materials" and deliver a refined software experience. On the technical side, the smartphone is anticipated to boast a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 1.5K resolution, and peak brightness reaching up to 3,000 nits. It is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, with options for up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device is rumored to have a 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired and 20W wireless charging capabilities, with some reports suggesting the adoption of Silicon Carbon battery technology for enhanced efficiency. The rear camera setup is expected to include a 50MP primary sensor, though details on the other lenses remain undisclosed. A 32MP front camera is likely for selfies and video calls. Additionally, Nothing is reportedly investing significantly in AI-driven software features, which may include voice-to-text capabilities, a Smart Drawer for app organization, Google’s Circle to Search, and possibly a proprietary AI assistant, positioning the Phone 3 as the most advanced device from Nothing to date.
