OnePlus is gearing up for the launch of its highly anticipated flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, set to debut in China on October 27. Alongside this main release, the company will introduce the OnePlus Ace 6, which is expected to be rebranded as the OnePlus 15R for international markets, including India. While OnePlus has shared most details about the OnePlus 15, information regarding the Ace 6/15R has been limited. However, a recent leak from Weibo has provided intriguing insights into what users can expect from this upcoming model. The OnePlus 15R is rumored to feature a striking 6.83-inch 1.5K Pro XDR LTPS AMOLED display with a remarkable 165Hz refresh rate. This display is anticipated to support Dolby Vision and come equipped with 2160Hz PWM dimming technology. Users may experience impressive brightness levels, with a global peak of 1,800 nits and a manual peak of 800 nits. It’s important to note the distinction between global peak brightness, which measures the maximum brightness achievable with auto settings, and manual peak brightness, which is attained when the brightness is maximized manually. In terms of battery life, the OnePlus 15R is expected to house a substantial 7,800mAh battery that supports 120W SuperVOOC wired fast charging. If these specs hold true, OnePlus appears to be prioritizing battery capacity for this R variant, albeit without wireless charging capabilities. On the photography front, the device is speculated to include a 50MP primary camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. However, details regarding the front-facing camera remain unclear. Given that the OnePlus 13R featured an ultra-wide and telephoto lens in addition to the primary camera, it’s uncertain whether the company will reduce camera features this year. Moreover, OnePlus has confirmed that the Ace 6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The leak indicates potential configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. As for design, the OnePlus Ace 6 will reportedly come in three color options: Quicksilver, Flash White, and Racing Black. This new model departs from its predecessor with a different design approach, lacking the circular camera module and the alert slider that fans have come to expect. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch date approaches, promising a new chapter in OnePlus’s smartphone evolution.
