Xiaomi has officially announced the upcoming launch of its Redmi Note 15 series in India, generating excitement among tech enthusiasts. Although a specific release date has yet to be disclosed, reports indicate that the smartphone may debut as early as next month. A teaser on the official Redmi India page highlights the Redmi Note 15 5G 108MP MasterPixel Edition, likely to be the entry-level model in this new mid-range lineup. Sources suggest that the Redmi Note 15 Pro and Note 15 Pro Plus will follow shortly after the initial launch of the Note 15. While Xiaomi has not revealed extensive details about the Redmi Note 15, early visuals imply that the device's sleek design will be one of its key selling points. Speculation on social media hints at a launch date of January 6. The Redmi Note 15 is anticipated to feature a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner for added convenience. In contrast to the previous generation, which had an IP64 rating, the Indian version of the Note 15 is expected to boast an IP68 rating, offering better protection against water and dust, allowing it to withstand submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. On the camera front, the smartphone is rumored to sport a 108MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens, complemented by a 20MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, alongside a robust 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging capabilities. The Redmi Note 15 may also continue the trend of its predecessors by running on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, rather than the latest Android 16. Given that the Redmi Note 14 was launched in India with a starting price of ₹18,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, it is speculated that the Note 15 could be priced around ₹20,000. If accurate, this pricing will place the device in direct competition with other mid-range options such as the OnePlus Nord CE 5, Infinix GT 30, and Realme P4.
