Apple is gearing up for its much-anticipated "Awe Dropping" event at its Cupertino headquarters, where it is set to reveal an exciting lineup of new iPhones. The upcoming models include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Recent leaks from a trusted source, ShrimpApplePro on X (formerly Twitter), suggest significant details about the battery capacities of these new devices, based on information from a Chinese regulatory database. According to these leaks, the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max may feature options for both eSIM and physical SIM cards. Interestingly, the eSIM models are expected to come equipped with larger batteries compared to their physical SIM counterparts. The leak has also reignited discussions about the iPhone 17 Pro Max potentially being the first device from Apple to boast a battery exceeding 5,000 mAh. Meanwhile, while the battery for the iPhone 17 Air might not surpass that of the Galaxy S25 Edge, it is anticipated to be larger than earlier estimates indicated. In terms of design, the sleek iPhone 17 Air is rumored to have a thickness of just 5.5mm and weigh under 150 grams. However, to achieve this lightweight form, Apple may make some trade-offs, particularly in the camera and battery departments. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a single 48MP rear camera along with a 24MP front-facing camera. It is also likely to be powered by the A19 processor, accompanied by 12GB of RAM, and may utilize Apple's own modem, which could offer slower speeds compared to the Qualcomm modem found in other iPhone 17 models. Stay tuned for further updates on pricing, features, and the launch date for all variants of the iPhone 17, including the Pro, Pro Max, and Air models.
