Apple is gearing up for the mass production of its upcoming MacBook Pro models, with a projected launch period between late 2025 and early 2026, as reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman emphasized that customers should be able to place their orders by March 2026 at the latest. Traditionally, Apple introduces new Mac models in October, but both Gurman and supply chain expert Ming-Chi Kuo have hinted that this new MacBook Pro lineup might deviate from that pattern. This shift could mirror the launch of the M2 Pro and M2 Max models in January 2023. The highly anticipated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro variants are expected to feature Apple’s innovative M5 series chips, including the M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max. Although the immediate changes appear limited, a more significant redesign is anticipated by the end of 2026. Reports suggest that future models may incorporate OLED displays for enhanced contrast, a more streamlined chassis, and potentially, touchscreen functionality. Moreover, these next-generation laptops are rumored to include Apple’s forthcoming M6 processors, which will be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm technology. There is also speculation that Apple might introduce cellular connectivity to its Mac lineup for the first time, featuring a custom modem akin to those expected in the next iPhone iterations. Additionally, the size of the notch housing the front-facing camera might be reduced on the OLED models. With these incremental updates expected in 2025 and significant hardware changes on the horizon for 2026, Apple seems poised to initiate a major redesign of its MacBook Pro line. In related news, Apple has further solidified its position in India’s thriving refurbished smartphone market, capturing 62.9 percent of sales in the first half of 2025, as highlighted in Cashify's recent report, 'The Great Indian Upgrade 2025'. This trend underscores a growing preference among Indian consumers for trading in, selling, and buying pre-owned devices, reflecting a shift towards a more sustainable technology ecosystem.
