Anthropic says its newest lawyer tools are 'like giving an engineer a legal degree'

Released recently, these innovations allow law firms to integrate their preferred software directly into the AI system, streamlining and automating substantial portions of their workflow. The platform supports various tools prevalent in the legal realm, including CourtListener, Definely, Thomson Reuters' Westlaw, Courtroom5, and Box. Notably, the OpenAI-backed startup Harvey has also become part of Cowork's integration ecosystem. Anthropic has further enhanced its offerings by bundling these collaborations with pre-defined AI functionalities that cater to specialized legal areas such as employment law, privacy issues, and product regulations. These features are tailored to meet the needs of legal clinics and law students alike. As interest in leveraging AI within the legal industry grows, evidenced by over 20,000 attendees in a recent Anthropic webinar, startups like Harvey and Legora are witnessing their valuations soar into the billions. Established legal technology companies, including Thomson Reuters and RELX, are also introducing their own AI solutions. With its continuously advancing models, Anthropic is positioning itself as a key player in this expansive and vital ecosystem.
