Anthropic appoints former GitLab executive Jai Gidwani to India GTM team

Anthropic has announced the appointment of Jai Gidwani to its founding go-to-market (GTM) team in India, marking a significant step in the artificial intelligence company's strategy to expand its footprint in the region. Gidwani will report directly to Irina Ghose, who is leading Anthropic's operations in India. He expressed his enthusiasm for joining the team in a LinkedIn post, stating, "Happy to share that I've joined Anthropic as part of the founding GTM team in India, under Irina Ghose's leadership. It's an exciting time to be building in AI, and I'm looking forward to contributing to Anthropic's mission of developing AI that's safe, reliable, and genuinely useful." This strategic appointment comes as Anthropic aims to enhance its commercial activities in India, focusing on engaging enterprises that are integrating generative AI tools into their operations. Before his role at Anthropic, Gidwani spent over two years at GitLab, where he advanced from a business development executive to a senior business development representative. His experience also includes significant contributions at MuleSoft, a Salesforce subsidiary, where he was involved in enterprise business development and market expansion initiatives. Additionally, Gidwani has held roles at Hevo Data and Zycus, focusing on business development and sales. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical, electronics, and communications engineering from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, further solidifying his background in technology and business development.
