Anthropic raises $30 billion at $380 billion valuation as enterprise AI demand rises

On February 13, Anthropic announced a significant achievement in its funding efforts, raising $30 billion during a Series G round that places the artificial intelligence startup's valuation at an impressive $380 billion post-money. This milestone highlights the growing investment interest in companies dedicated to developing advanced AI technologies. The funding round was spearheaded by Singapore's GIC and Coatue, with contributions from a range of prominent global investors including Dragoneer, Founders Fund, ICONIQ, and MGX. Notably, existing investors like Microsoft and Nvidia also participated, demonstrating strong confidence in the company’s vision. The capital infusion is set to bolster Anthropic's research, product development, and computing infrastructure as enterprises increasingly integrate AI solutions into their core operations. Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao remarked on the universal demand from customers, stating, "Claude is increasingly becoming critical to how businesses work." He emphasized that this funding underscores the overwhelming interest from clients, which will enable Anthropic to further develop the enterprise-grade products and AI models that are becoming essential for their operations. In terms of financial performance, Anthropic reported an annualized revenue run rate of $14 billion, achieving remarkable growth of over tenfold each year for the past three years. A key factor driving this growth is Claude Code, the company's innovative coding platform, which alone is responsible for generating upwards of $2.5 billion in annual revenue, with enterprise usage accounting for more than half of that figure. Philippe Laffont, founder and portfolio manager at Coatue, remarked on Anthropic's journey since their initial investment in 2025, noting that the company's focus on agentic coding and enterprise-level AI systems has catalyzed its rapid adoption. Furthermore, Anthropic has made strides in developing its flagship model, Opus 4.6, which is designed to manage intricate knowledge work through software agents. Choo Yong Cheen, chief investment officer for private equity at GIC, stated, "Anthropic is the clear category leader in enterprise AI, demonstrating breakthrough capabilities and setting a new standard for safety, performance, and scale."
