Deloitte has made headlines by announcing a significant partnership with Anthropic to introduce the AI assistant, Claude, to over 470,000 employees worldwide. This initiative marks Anthropic's largest enterprise deployment to date, further solidifying the collaboration that began last year. As a major player in consulting, tax, and audit services, Deloitte joins the ranks of the 300,000 business clients Anthropic has gained since its inception four years ago. Paul Smith, Anthropic's Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the mutual commitment to this partnership, emphasizing the substantial investment in both financial resources and engineering talent. While specific financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the deployment will see tailored Claude 'personas' created for various employee groups, including accountants and software developers, over the next few months. Additionally, Deloitte will provide access to specialists within its Claude Center of Excellence, aimed at facilitating the effective use of the AI technology by different teams. Ranjit Bawa, Deloitte's U.S. Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, noted that integrating AI into the workforce is intended not only to boost productivity for employees but also to inspire innovative applications across different industries. "Our clients want to know if we're leveraging these technologies ourselves," Bawa stated, underscoring the importance of leading by example to enhance their advisory capabilities. This expansive deployment by Deloitte, which will span more than 150 countries, coincides with Anthropic's efforts to enhance its global footprint. The startup recently announced plans to triple its international workforce and welcomed Chris Ciauri as a new executive to lead this growth. In September, Anthropic unveiled its latest AI model, Claude Sonnet 4.5, and successfully closed a $13 billion funding round, achieving a post-money valuation of $183 billion. Competing with industry giants like OpenAI and Google, Anthropic is navigating a bustling landscape in the AI sector, as Smith remarked, "We're still pretty busy. But it's good busy."
