As the situation developed, Anthropic announced that it had initiated several fixes and was actively monitoring the outcomes. At the time of reporting, the company indicated progress in restoring service. An Anthropic spokesperson clarified, "We’re aware of a very brief outage of our API today shortly before 9:30 AM PT. Service was quickly restored." This is not the first time Anthropic's platform has faced technical difficulties. Over the past few months, users have reported various errors, particularly with the Claude AI system. Amidst the downtime, many Claude users took to online forums to express their frustration and humor, with one GitHub user lamenting the forced pause in productivity. Another comment on Hacker News echoed a past experience with similar outages, humorously stating, "Nooooo I’m going to have to use my brain again and write 100% of my code like a caveman from December 2024."
