Anthropic, the prominent AI firm, is moving rapidly to secure new investments, requesting stakeholders to submit their funding allocations within the next 48 hours. Sources indicate that this latest round of fundraising, projected to raise around $50 billion, is expected to finalize in just two weeks. The company's ambitions are sky-high, targeting a staggering valuation of approximately $900 billion. However, with a surge in investor interest, insiders suggest that the eventual valuation could surpass this initial estimate. Anthropic has chosen not to comment on these developments. Interestingly, some of Anthropic's early investors, particularly those who participated in funding rounds from 2024 or earlier, are opting out of this latest opportunity. Instead, they are biding their time, anticipating potential profits during the company's highly anticipated IPO later this year. This fundraising effort is likely to be Anthropic's last private round before it transitions to public trading, primarily aimed at supporting its extensive computing infrastructure. In a recent announcement, Anthropic revealed that its annual revenue run rate has exceeded $30 billion, with other reports suggesting it may be closer to $40 billion based on insider knowledge. This marks a significant increase from its previous funding round in February, where it was valued at $380 billion. If the company achieves its $900 billion target, it would more than double its valuation and surpass its main competitor, OpenAI, which recently completed a record-breaking funding round at an $852 billion valuation.
