Anthropic expands Mythos to 150 additional organizations in more than 15 countries

On Tuesday, Anthropic announced a significant expansion of its Project Glasswing, bringing in 150 new partners across more than 15 countries to test its Mythos model for software vulnerabilities. This strategic move aims to include sectors that were underrepresented in the initial rollout, such as energy, water management, healthcare, telecommunications, and hardware manufacturing. To gain access to the Mythos model, new partners must adhere to specific security standards. Anthropic emphasized that this initiative is a crucial step towards their overarching objective: to enhance software security through AI and to assist the industry in adapting to the transformative impact of AI on cybersecurity practices. The company shared these insights through a blog post, highlighting their commitment to the evolution of software security. Initially, Mythos was introduced to 50 partners in April, amid rising concerns about cybersecurity and the potential misuse of AI tools by hackers. This issue garnered attention from the White House, prompting discussions between Anthropic and the U.S. government. Since the beginning of the program, partners have identified over 10,000 critical security vulnerabilities. This announcement comes just a day after Anthropic revealed it has confidentially submitted its IPO prospectus to the SEC, marking a significant milestone ahead of its competitor, OpenAI. With these developments, the tech community is poised for exciting changes in the cybersecurity landscape.
