Anthropic signs $200M deal to bring its LLMs to Snowflake’s customers

AI research organization Anthropic is making significant strides in attracting enterprise clientele. On Wednesday, the firm announced an expanded collaboration with cloud data leader Snowflake, culminating in a substantial $200 million multi-year agreement. This deal will integrate Anthropic's large language models into Snowflake's platform, thus providing access to its extensive customer base. Sridhar Ramaswamy, co-founder and CEO of Snowflake, highlighted the importance of this partnership, noting, "Anthropic joins a very select group of partners where we have nine-figure alignment, co-innovation at the product level, and a proven track record of executing together for customers worldwide." He emphasized that the collaboration between Claude and Snowflake is set to redefine how enterprises implement scalable, context-aware AI utilizing their essential business data. This partnership is not just about technology; it aims to create a joint go-to-market strategy to deliver AI agents to enterprise users. The integration will see Claude Sonnet 4.5 powering Snowflake Intelligence, the cloud company’s enterprise AI service. Customers will have the opportunity to leverage Claude models, such as Claude Opus 4.5, for multimodal data analysis and to develop customized agents tailored to their needs. Dario Amodei, co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, stated, "Enterprises have spent years building secure, trusted data environments, and now they want AI that can work within those environments without compromise." He expressed that this partnership is a significant advancement toward making cutting-edge AI truly beneficial for businesses. In recent months, Anthropic has successfully secured multiple large enterprise deals, focusing on selling to businesses rather than individual users. This strategic direction contrasts with that of its main competitor, OpenAI, which has pursued a more consumer-oriented growth model. Notably, in October, Anthropic formed a partnership with Deloitte to bring its Claude chatbot to a workforce of over 500,000 employees, and also collaborated with IBM to integrate its models into IBM's software offerings. The increasing traction of Anthropic’s models among enterprises is underscored by a Menlo Ventures survey from July, which indicated a preference for Anthropic’s AI products over those from other competitors.
