Anant Raj sets up Singapore cloud unit, eyes global data centre expansion

Anant Raj Ltd, a prominent real estate developer, is setting its sights on international expansion by establishing its first overseas subsidiary in Singapore. This move is aimed at enhancing its data center and cloud services capabilities on a global scale. The company's Finance and Investment Committee has officially greenlit the formation of a wholly owned subsidiary, which will operate under Singaporean laws. The new entity, named Anant Raj Cloud Singapore Pte. Ltd., will focus on providing data center, co-location, and cloud services, including offerings linked to artificial intelligence (AI). According to the company's filing, the subsidiary will be tasked with delivering co-location and cloud services from the data center currently being developed by Anant Raj. This Singaporean branch will be fully owned by Anant Raj and will be financed through a cash subscription, with an initial capital structure of 1,000 shares valued at SGD 1 each, totaling SGD 1,000. Plans for capital enhancement are already in place following the incorporation. Strategically, Singapore is set to serve as a pivotal hub for Anant Raj’s global initiatives, leveraging its status as a financial center and a crucial link between Asia, Europe, and other markets. Industry insiders suggest that this expansion aligns with Anant Raj's robust plans for scaling its data center operations. Currently, the company operates 28 MW of data center capacity in Manesar and Panchkula, with an ambitious target to increase this to 307 MW by FY32. Additionally, Anant Raj has signed a significant MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government, committing Rs 4,500 crore to further expand its data center capabilities. This new subsidiary is expected to complement the firm’s domestic investments, allowing it to meet the rising global demand for cloud and AI infrastructure and solidifying its role as a competitive player in the international data center landscape.
