At CES 2026, AMD's Chair and CEO Lisa Su opened her keynote with a bold vision for the future, highlighting the potential of AI technology for a broader audience. In line with this vision, AMD unveiled its latest AI processors, signaling a commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into personal computing. The highlight of the event was the announcement of the AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processor, marking a significant upgrade in the company's lineup of AI-driven chips. According to AMD, this new processor boasts impressive performance metrics, achieving 1.3 times faster multitasking capabilities compared to competitors and 1.7 times quicker content creation processes. Featuring 12 CPU cores and 24 threads, this processor represents a substantial enhancement over the previous Ryzen AI 300 Series released in 2024. Rahul Tikoo, AMD’s senior vice president and general manager of the client business, shared that the company has expanded its portfolio to over 250 AI PC platforms, doubling its offerings from the previous year. "In the coming years, AI will be intricately woven into every aspect of personal computing," Tikoo stated. He emphasized that AMD's AI-powered devices will revolutionize how people work, play, create, and connect with one another. Additionally, AMD launched the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, a processor designed specifically for gaming enthusiasts. Tikoo remarked on the transformative impact of AI on daily computing, noting its ability to understand user context, automate tasks, and provide personalized experiences. Computers equipped with the Ryzen AI 400 Series or the Ryzen 7 9850X3D are set to hit the market in the first quarter of 2026.
