AMC previews its new show, ‘The Audacity,’ focused on Silicon Valley

During the CES 2026 event, AMC showcased sneak peeks of its forthcoming series, "The Audacity," which is the brainchild of acclaimed writer and producer Jonathan Glatzer, known for his work on hits like "Succession" and "Better Call Saul." This show delves into the pivotal role that Silicon Valley's innovators play in shaping contemporary society. Dan McDermott, AMC Networks' chief content officer and president of AMC Studios, shared insights at the Variety Entertainment Summit, emphasizing the significance of Silicon Valley's influence. He stated, "They’re literally laying the cement on the freeway that we’re all driving down with things like AI, data collection, social media, etc. There couldn’t be any more important group, in my opinion, to be taking a deep-dive look at than the men and women in Silicon Valley who are shaping the lives that we live." The cast includes notable figures such as Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Simon Helberg, and Rob Corddry, and the narrative unfolds in a fictional context devoid of real company names or celebrity cameos. However, familiar themes resonate throughout, particularly through Helberg’s character, a socially awkward genius creating an AI therapy application for teenagers while grappling with personal isolation and a strained relationship with his daughter. Helberg remarked, "There’s loneliness, I think, at the heart of all the characters, and they’re all trying to connect, and they’re trying to connect through technology, which has some pitfalls." At the event, two clips from the series were presented, though recording was prohibited. One scene featured a lively exchange where Magnussen's character attempts to engage Galifianakis at a restaurant, only for Galifianakis to interrupt by stabbing him with a fork. Another clip illustrated Helberg's character missing a chance to bond with his daughter, choosing instead to use her annoyed expression to refine his AI. Mark your calendars for the premiere on Sunday, April 12, exclusively on AMC and AMC+.
