Amazon has rolled out its rapid delivery service, Amazon Now, in select areas of Mumbai, following successful launches in Bengaluru and Delhi. This innovative service enables customers to order a vast array of everyday items, from groceries and personal care products to electronic accessories and small appliances, all with delivery times averaging around 10 minutes. To facilitate this swift service, Amazon has established over 100 micro-fulfilment centers across the three cities and plans to expand this network with hundreds more by year-end. These centers are strategically positioned to bring essential products closer to customers, leveraging advanced technology-driven inventory systems that adapt to local demand. Amazon Now is part of a comprehensive delivery model the company offers in India, which includes options for ultra-fast essentials as well as same-day and next-day deliveries. Prime members continue to enjoy unlimited free and quick deliveries spanning various product categories. This expansion is particularly timely as it coincides with the festive season in India, a period marked by heightened online shopping activity. Looking ahead, Amazon aims to further grow the service, with plans to introduce it in additional cities in the near future. Customers can easily check if Amazon Now is available in their locality using the Amazon app, where eligible postcodes will feature a ‘10 mins’ icon.
