In an exciting development for music fans, Amazon Music has announced a collaboration with the live event listing service Bandsintown. This partnership aims to integrate concert listings directly into the Amazon Music platform, allowing users to easily discover live performances from their favorite artists. With the new Bandsintown for Artists feature, listeners will find live show information prominently displayed on artist profile pages within Amazon Music. Additionally, users can purchase tickets through Bandsintown with a simple click on the 'buy ticket' buttons. To activate this feature, artists must link their Amazon Music profiles to Bandsintown for the event synchronization to take effect. Karolina Joynathsing, the Director of Business Development at Amazon Music, emphasized the vital role of live music in fostering connections between fans and artists. She expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, "We’re thrilled to team up with Bandsintown, so fans can now discover upcoming shows from the artists they love on Amazon Music, alongside streaming their music, catching exclusive livestreams, shopping merch, and more, all in one place." The rollout of this new feature is currently underway, with plans for full availability on both iOS and Android apps by spring. Bandsintown boasts a vast network of over 700,000 artists and 65,000 venues utilizing its Pro marketing tools, along with a user base exceeding 100 million. However, the platform did not disclose the number of active users. This partnership marks a significant step for Amazon Music in the realm of concert discovery, an area where competitors like Spotify and Apple Music have already established features. Last year, SoundCloud also collaborated with Ticketmaster to enhance live event listings for artists, indicating a growing trend across music streaming platforms to integrate live performance features.
