Adobe brings Photoshop, Express and Acrobat features to ChatGPT

In a bold move to enrich its ecosystem and attract more users, Adobe has announced the integration of features from its popular applications—Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat—into ChatGPT. This new functionality allows users to interact with the chatbot for a variety of tasks such as image editing, PDF modifications, and animation, all through conversational prompts. Users can now direct ChatGPT to utilize Photoshop for specific image edits, including tasks like blurring backgrounds, adjusting exposure, and applying various effects. The chatbot enhances user control by offering sliders to modify the intensity of these effects, making the editing process more intuitive. Additionally, the integration with Express enables users to request existing designs from a library, create themed graphics, animate components, and make design edits seamlessly. With Acrobat's capabilities, ChatGPT can handle tasks such as merging files, extracting text, and editing tables, further streamlining document management. For those who prefer to work directly within Adobe's applications, there is an option to switch back at any time to finish tasks using features that may not be available in ChatGPT. This integration is rolling out globally, with desktop, web, and iOS apps supported, while Android users will soon have access to Photoshop features as well. This year, Adobe has been at the forefront of AI innovations, launching various AI assistants across its platforms. The company also hinted at a new cross-app assistant, known as Project Moonlight. While it remains unclear whether a revenue-sharing arrangement exists between OpenAI and Adobe, the introduction of third-party apps within ChatGPT has begun, with companies like Canva and Spotify already on board. The challenge now lies in attracting users to prefer their applications over competitors within the ChatGPT environment.
