Adobe’s Firefly comes to iOS and Android

Adobe is intensifying its efforts to capture the attention of users seeking AI solutions. Following the debut of a revamped Firefly web application in April, which enables access to Adobe's proprietary image and video generation models alongside third-party options, the company has now unveiled the Firefly app for both iOS and Android devices. This new mobile application empowers users to utilize not only Adobe’s models but also those from industry leaders like OpenAI, Google, and Flux. Users can create stunning images and videos by simply entering prompts, as well as convert images into videos. The app also features innovative tools that allow users to edit specific areas of images using generative fill, and expand images with generative expand capabilities. For subscribers of Adobe Creative Cloud, the Firefly mobile app offers seamless project continuity by enabling cloud storage, allowing users to access their work from the web or desktop applications. In addition to enhancing its mobile offerings, Adobe is broadening its support for third-party models, incorporating options like Flux.1 Kontext from Black Forest Labs, Ideogram 3.0, and Gen-4 Image from Runway. The company is also refreshing Adobe Canvas, its collaborative whiteboarding tool, to include video generation capabilities. This tool allows users to create videos using both Adobe’s models and those developed by competitors. Remarkably, Adobe reports that users have generated over 24 billion media assets utilizing its Firefly models. The introduction of these AI features has significantly contributed to a 30% increase in first-time subscriber growth quarter-over-quarter.
