Adobe Acrobat now lets you edit files using prompts, generate podcast summaries

Adobe continues to push the boundaries of its software capabilities by integrating advanced AI functionalities into Acrobat. Among the newest features is the ability to generate podcast summaries directly from documents, create presentations seamlessly, and edit files using intuitive prompts. With the introduction of Adobe Spaces last year, the platform has evolved to allow multiple users to collaborate on files and notes. Now, users can harness the information stored within these Spaces to create presentations simply by inputting text prompts. For example, if users have financial data, product strategies, and competitive analyses available, they can easily generate a persuasive pitch deck that highlights their product's advantages over competitors. The AI assistant in Acrobat takes the lead in generating an editable presentation that outlines key points. Users can enhance their presentations by utilizing Adobe Express’s extensive theme library, incorporating stock images, or uploading personal visuals. This feature allows for quick customization of brand themes or individual slide edits, positioning Acrobat as a strong competitor alongside platforms like Canva and NotebookLM, which also offer document-to-presentation conversion. Additionally, Adobe has introduced a feature that enables users to create podcasts summarizing the contents of a file or a Space, a capability that aligns with offerings from tools like Google’s NotebookLM, Speechify, and ElevenLabs’ Reader app, which also focus on personalized podcast creation from notes and documents. The editing functionalities in Acrobat have been significantly upgraded as well. Users can now execute 12 different actions through prompts, such as removing pages, text, comments, and images, as well as finding and replacing specific words and phrases, and adding e-signatures or passwords. While Acrobat previously allowed for file sharing through Spaces, it now enhances this feature with AI-generated summaries that include citations linking to exact locations within the document. Contributors can engage with files by commenting and modifying content. Furthermore, users have the flexibility to choose between a default AI assistant or opt for specialized roles such as 'analyst,' 'entertainer,' or 'instructor.' For a more tailored experience, users can even create a custom assistant using specific prompts.
