In a swift move following the conclusion of The Boys series, Prime Video has dropped the first teaser for its highly anticipated prequel, Vought Rising. With the spinoff series Gen V concluding after just two seasons, the responsibility now falls on Vought Rising and the upcoming The Boys: Mexico to carry the franchise forward. The finale of The Boys set the stage for a dramatic showdown between Antony Starr’s Homelander and Karl Urban’s Butcher. While Homelander aimed to obtain the original V compound for immortality, Butcher sought to unleash a virus targeting Supes for genocide. Despite achieving his objective, Homelander's triumph was short-lived, culminating in his ultimate defeat at the hands of a vengeful Butcher. The finale left audiences reeling from significant character losses, especially the fate of Frenchie. Vought Rising promises to delve into the dark history of Vought International, set against the backdrop of the 1950s. The teaser provides a chilling glimpse into the narrative that will shape this new chapter of the franchise. Series creator Eric Kripke reveals that the Supes in this prequel begin their journey in the military before transitioning into the more glamorous but morally ambiguous realm of the private sector. The design of the Supes' costumes draws inspiration from USO performers, reflecting the era’s aesthetics. Jensen Ackles returns as Ben/Soldier Boy, showcasing his character's earlier patriotic ideals, alongside Aya Cash, who reprises her role as Clara Vought, the infamous Nazi Supe known as Stormfront. The cast also introduces new characters, played by actors Mason Dye, Will Hochman, Elizabeth Posey, Ethan Slater, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith, with potential appearances from familiar faces in the franchise. Fans can look forward to Vought Rising making its debut on Prime Video in 2027, promising to expand the universe of The Boys in thrilling new directions.
