I'm a VC founder. Here's a day in my life, from coffee and emails at 4 a.m. to taking a Waymo to dance class at noon

Every day starts for me at the early hour of 4 a.m., when I kick off my morning with a cup of coffee made using my automated pour-over. This routine has become essential for me as I focus on emails and creative tasks during the quiet morning hours before the world wakes up. As a co-founder and general partner at Baukunst, a venture capital firm I established in 2022, my work revolves around investing in innovative technology startups at the pre-seed stage. My daily schedule is shaped largely by my 50/50 custody arrangement with my son, which adds a unique rhythm to my life. Each week is a blend of structured meetings and spontaneous networking, but one thing remains constant: my commitment to both my family and my professional life. Mornings are particularly special when I have my son with me. We share a lively routine that includes reading together for 45 minutes after I prepare his breakfast, which often leads to a morning filled with laughter and bonding. On days when I don’t have him, I make a point to walk to my office, often with a weighted vest, taking in the sunrise along the way. Dance is a non-negotiable part of my life. I schedule my dance classes in advance, ensuring I dedicate time to this vital form of self-care. Each class offers me a chance to unwind and connect with a community. My Tuesdays are particularly special, as I attend a noon dance class, and I often utilize my travel time with Waymo to catch up on work, making the most of every minute. Throughout the day, my schedule is a mix of back-to-back calls, strategic meetings, and focused work sessions. I typically have lunch from a nearby store, opting for something quick and healthy, like grocery store sushi. My work often blends seamlessly into my evening routine, where I transition from professional to parental responsibilities, picking up my son from school and enjoying time at the park. By 8:30 p.m., our day winds down, and both my son and I are off to bed, ready to recharge for another busy day ahead. As I navigate the fast-paced world of startups, I’ve learned that adaptability is key. What works now may change in a matter of months, and I embrace the opportunity to iterate my routine continuously.
