Google AI Pro vs Perplexity Pro vs ChatGPT Go: Which free subscription is best?

Reliance has launched the Google AI Pro subscription at no cost for Jio users, a promotion lasting 18 months. This initiative follows closely on the heels of OpenAI's announcement that its ChatGPT Go subscription will be free for all Indian users for one year, starting November 4. Meanwhile, Perplexity has teamed up with Airtel to provide its subscribers access to the Perplexity AI Pro subscription free for a year. These offerings make popular AI tools accessible to a large segment of the population, raising the question: which subscription stands out as the best? ChatGPT Go, while a new entrant, appears limited compared to its counterparts, offering only basic image generation and access to AI models. In contrast, Google AI Pro provides extensive access to its advanced Gemini 2.5 Pro model, featuring a 1 million token context window. It also boasts higher image generation capabilities through its Nano Banana feature, along with video generation using the Veo 3.1 Flash model. Subscribers benefit from 2TB of storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos, alongside seamless integration of AI across Google’s suite of applications. According to Google, the AI Pro plan grants users 20 times more access to Gemini 2.5 Pro than the free tier, and 50 times more access to the Deep Research tool. On the other hand, Perplexity differentiates itself by providing access to a variety of AI models, including Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro, OpenAI’s GPT-5, and Anthropic’s Claude 4.5. Additionally, Perplexity offers certain premium features through its Pro plan for users of the Comet browser. In terms of pricing, a one-year Perplexity Pro subscription costs ₹17,000, while Google AI Pro is priced at ₹19,500. For users seeking access to multiple AI models, Perplexity may offer more value. However, for those satisfied with Gemini's capabilities and looking for an integrated experience across various applications, Google may be the superior choice. Furthermore, Google’s Veo 3.1 Flash video generation continues to be recognized as one of the best options available in the industry.
